The word “Holistic” doesn’t make sense for everyone. It could be replaced by the word “Whole”. In holistic health care, we think that the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person are connected. Every single part of your body has to be in harmony if you want to find wellness.

“The principles of holistic practitioner is to address energetic blockages that may have an impact on wellness and energetic balance, facilitating the body’s natural ability to bring itself to homeostasis, which may have an impact on health and well-being.” - Michael Cohen.

A holistic health practitioner can be a nurse, counselor, nutritionist, therapist, naturopathic doctor, medical doctor, or other healthcare professional.

Each holistic health practitioner has their own specialties or practice fields.

  • And still others according to the affinities of the therapists such as nutrition, Reiki, energetic medicine, reflexology, stress management, body movement, etc.

Some of them follow the six principles of Hippocrates, the father of western medicine:

  1. PRINUM NOT NOCERE: FIRST NOT TO HARM

  2. VIS MEDICATRIX NATURAE: THE POWER OF HEALING OF NATURE

  3. TOLLE CAUSAM: FINDING THE CAUSE

  4. TOLLE TOTUM: CONSIDERING THE PERSON AS A WHOLE

  5. DOCERE: TEACHING

  6. PROEVENTIO: PREVENTION FIRST

A holistic practitioner does not pretend to cure or does not cure any disease.
